SysTools Folder Key

Folder Key, a freeware SysTools product, aims to protect your privacy by allowing you to lock folders. From Folder Key’s wizard-like interface, you can quickly select a folder and easily lock it. From the same interfac,e you can quickly select the locked folder and easily unlock it.

Folder Key can also password protect folders. You have the option to enter a password during the folder lock process. The locked folder won’t be unlocked unless said password is provided. So by adding a password, you ensure that you and you alone can unlock a folder. If someone wants to unlock, that someone will fail because he doesn’t have the password.

The system requirements for running Folder Key are: 1GHz process or better (2.4GHz recommended); at least 512MB of RAM (1GB or more recommended); at least 5MB of free disk space; Windows operating system (latest edition and all previous versions). Once a folder is locked, it’s icon changes; instead of the default folder icon, you will see a padlock icon. Double click on a locked folder and nothing will happen. Right click it, select Open, and nothing will happen. That’s because locked folders cannot be opened. That’s the whole purpose of locking them – to keep others from accessing these folders.
